Obsessions

Let me just start out by saying, interests come and go. So you know in a recent post I said my class was so into Rubiks cubes? Well, not anymore, now it's ... Silly Bandz! They are these little bracelets that are made out of rubber. You see, you put them on and when they get all twisted, they go back to their original form. But what's cool is that their original shape is an animal, or object, or a word. Next thing you know it's going to be something different! I wonder...

Pronunciation Problems

Ok, so I was playing with 2 of my friends, and we got bored. We decided to do something odd. It went like this, one of us would pretend to enter a room with the other 2 people sitting there. Then, we would pronounce the person who entered the room's name as oddly as we could. We sounded more like sludge monsters instead of humans. We did this for quite a while. It was pretty cool.

1 Mile Run

So there is this fitness test that 4Th and 5Th grade have to do, and it's called the presidential or national fitness test. I had to take along with my class. There is 4 activities, the v stretch, sit ups, the mile run, and the shuttle run. Today I did the mile run. It was torture! I felt dizzy and wobbly when it was over. Some kids in my class are super fast! They ran it in like 6-8 minutes! I can't wait for the v stretch and the shuttle run.

Book 2, Percy Jackson and The Olympians

On Friday, I finished book 2 in the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. It was amazing! I give it 2 thumbs up. I can't wait to read #3. I highly recommend reading this series. It brings Greek mythology into the modern world of New York in a way that is filled with excitement and adventure. Bye!

Bus Game

I was on my school bus back home and me and my friends on the bus wanted to play a game. We started to copy each other, then we played something where someone says a random word and the person who's turn it is next has to say the first word that comes to their head after hearing the word the person before them said. It would go like this: Cat, Furry, Cute, Pink, Purple, Chowder, Pickle, etc. We went from Apple all the way to the United States of America. It's really fun. You should try it next time you get bored. (I give credit to my friends on the bus for think of the game that inspired this post.)

Circus Monkey

This is a really random question, but if you had a circus monkey, what would you name him? I'd name mine Jojo or Coco. Just wondering.

What To Do, What To Do

So... I'm bored. Right now I'm sitting on a couch writing this post. What do you do when you get bored? I usually read, watch T.V, go on the Internet, finish some work, or if I have an idea I write. I'll think of something. Bye! See you soon!

Gardening

Today I did a lot of gardening. Well, my mom and me did. But, my mom did more than me. Anyway, we had these little seedlings and we put them in larger pots. Most of the plants were bending because they move towards the sun. It was very leaf and soily(there were a lot of leaves and soil). After we did that, my mom went out and pruned the roses. You see, we have this rose arch in our backyard and it was growing out of control. But, now It looks less like a jungle and more like a rose arch. OK, as I was writing this post, it doesn't seem much so let's change it to my mom and me did a little gardening. See ya!

Swim Story

Today I was at my swimming class and guess what my teacher said. Wait a second, before I tell you what he said I should tell you that he was a substitute. Anyway, he said he was filling in for his brother because he cut his toe and couldn't go in the pool. When you first hear it, it sounds normal, but when you think about it, how could someone cut his toe! It confused me. Oh well.

100th Post!

My last post was my... 100th post! For you it maybe a little confusing to you why I'm excited, but it's a sense of pride doing something 100 times. I'm so happy! I wonder when I'll get to 2oo? Bye!

The Ultimate Library!

O.K, the ultimate library is the Library of Congress. It is huge. You could not believe all of the exhibits, books, mosaics, and artwork! It was just beautiful. My favorite part about it was Thomas Jefferson's books. It was a huge exhibit with books... that were tagged with ribbons. Green,Gold, and no ribbon. Green ribbons mean that they were in Thomas Jefferson's original library. Gold means books that have been purchased to reconstruct the library. No ribbon means books that are identical to ones owned by Thomas Jefferson. Organized, right?! This is another place that you have got to see if and when you go to Washington DC.

Capitol Hill

The first thing I saw when I was in DC, was Capitol Hill. The architecture in it was gorgeous! I saw the actual place where President Lincoln desk was. Along with Franklin Pierce, Martin Van Buren, etc. It was wonderful. In the beginning of the tour that I was on, we saw a short movie about the Capitol's history. Anyway, in one of the rooms, there was a huge painting on the ceiling. It was of George Washington, he was surrounded by Lady Liberty and Lady Victory with 13 women that stood for the 13 original colonies. There were also a lot of statues of famous figures in American history. I loved it!

JFK Gravesite/Arlington Cemetery

As you already would have found out I'm telling you about all of the places I went to in DC. Another thing I saw was Arlington National Cemetery and The Kennedy family grave site there. I also saw the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where I witnessed the Changing of the Guard. I'm going to go one by one here. First, I saw the Kennedy grave site. The grave was very beautiful. There were 4 black platforms. 2 large ones were John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The 2 smaller ones were I believe his their son and daughter. Those platforms were surrounded with stones and an eternal flame was lit. Next, I saw the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. It was a tomb of 3 soldiers no one knew. They were unknown. One of the soldiers was in the Vietnam War. Another one was in the World War I, and the last one was in World War II. You might want to check it out because I'm not sure about the wars they were in. But, on the side of the tomb the words
"Here Rests in Honored Glory An American Solider Known But To God" are inscribed. This tomb is to be guarded 24/7, 365 days a year. The tomb guards go through a ceremony called the Changing of the Guard before they begin to guard the tomb. I saw this ceremony. It was so precise, and perfect. The guards had such dedication, such patriotism, it was beautiful. I highly recommend seeing this, next time you go to DC.

Giant Lincoln!

While I was in DC I also saw the Lincoln memorial. It was huge! There were fountains and a World War II memorial near it. But, there was a lot of stairs. It was all worth in the end when you got to see the memorial up close. It was so amazing, and to think how long it would have taken to build it. It was one of my most favorite things in DC. I loved it.

I Touched a National Monument!

When I was in DC, I saw a lot of interesting and historic things. One of them being the Washington monument. I touched it! Did you know, it is 2 different colors? About 1 quarter of it is white, the rest is a sandy color. I never knew! I was so excited about seeing it because, well, I love writing and it looked liked a giant pencil. But I have to admit it wasn't the best thing in DC. It looked better far away. Either way, I liked it.

I'm Going To Washington DC!

Today I'm leaving to go to Washington DC! I can't wait. There is so much I want to see, like the Washington monument, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and the museums. I'll be back on Sunday. If you were to build a monument, what would it be for and how would it look like?

Cookie Dream

Last night, I had a dream. It was about cookies. I went to this bakery and bought two bags of chocolate chip cookies. They had frosting on them! It was a delicious dream.
